April Fix
By Ali Smith on April 30, 2015

For my April Fix I was hoping to receive some clothing that I could wear for the banquet season and maybe even graduation. This time I asked for Lora as my stylist again. I actually liked almost everything in my fix this month! I think my stylist is figuring out what I like. I received two fit and flare dresses, which seem to work well for my body type. I also received a pair of jeans,

I have a jewelry problem. I don't know what looks good on me. I don't know what to wear it with. And what is worse, I never remember to wear it when I actually do have it. I wear two pieces of jewelry every day: my wedding right and a necklace my husband gave to me several years ago. I like the idea of jewelry and if I would remember it exists, I'm sure I would wear it...maybe. I liked this necklace, but the baubles kept flipping around and the necklace kept becoming off center and that was just me walking around my house, so I decided it wasn't worth it and I probably wouldn't remember to wear it anyway.

This is the one piece of clothing that I actually kept! I also wore this to the leadership and awards banquet at PSU. The dress hits me at just the right length, it's comfortable, and it's cute!

This dress was super comfortable, but it was also very light and felt like it wasn't going to last. And again, I'm never sure about stripes with me, so I decided against it - or you could say that I liked the other dress better.

I'm not sure how I felt about the rolled up pant legs, but since they came that way I tried it out. The jeans overall were comfortable, but not form fitting at all. They were just kind of there. I had a lot of room in some areas and I knew that this would probably be another pair of jeans I have to shrink every week in order to wear them.

Don't let that smile fool you. This spaghetti tank was terrible. This was the only picture that didn't make me look absolutely terrible. I just can't do spaghetti strapped clothing with my chest size. It doesn't work. Also, I would have to wear a strapless bra and I have to really be in love with a piece of clothing in order to do that. This just did not do it for me. It had much more room in the stomach area than in the chest area - I need the opposite!

I think the only reason I have continued subscribing to Stitch Fix is because my own shopping outings have been so frustrating the past six months. Whenever I shop for a piece of clothing I actually need, I have had the hardest time finding something that fits, let alone is my style. What used to be an enjoyable outing is now a frustrating chore. Receiving this fix in the mail makes the "shopping" a little easier and more enjoyable.

If you are confused about how this subscription box works, in my first Stitch Fix blog I explained how Stitch Fix works.
